A TV anime produced by GONZO, based on Akira Kurosawa's legendary film Seven Samurai, reimagined in a far-future science fiction setting. Broadcast on NHK BS2 for 26 episodes. In an era after a great war where farming has resumed, the mountain village of Kanna is annually raided by the Nobuseri, mechanized remnants of wartime samurai. Village elder Gisaku decides to hire samurai to defend against them, sending priestess Kirara and her companions to the city to recruit warriors. Led by Shimada Kanbei, seven distinctive samurai unite to protect the village. Character designs were handled by Takuhito Kusanagi.
