The story begins when Tsukiko Sagi, designer of the popular mascot character "Maromi," is attacked by an assailant known as "Lil' Slugger." As victims continue to appear, detectives Keiichi Ikari and Mitsuhiro Maniwa discover that each victim shares a common trait: they all harbor secrets and inner darkness they cannot reveal to others.
