A suspense anime produced by Madhouse, based on the manga by Naoki Urasawa serialized in Shogakukan's Big Comic Original. Genius brain surgeon Dr. Tenma in Germany loses his position after defying the hospital director to save a dying boy named Johan. When Johan is later revealed to be a serial killer, Tenma embarks on a fugitive journey to stop the "monster" he brought back to life. A psychological thriller set across Europe where the fates of Tenma and Johan intertwine. A monumental 74-episode work with music by Kuniaki Haishima heightening the tension throughout.
