Alice SOS

A short anime based on the Alice children's novels by Ryo Nakahara, broadcast within NHK Educational TV's youth program Tensai Terebi-kun. Takashi, a boy who loves reading and is fascinated by Alice in Wonderland, sets out with his classmates across an otherworldly dimension to rescue Alice after she is kidnapped by a demon's minions. Each episode switches between quizzes, puzzles, and battles, combining playful variety with affection for classic fairy tales. Its theme song, written by Yu Aku and composed by Shunichi Tokura, gave the series a nostalgic kayokyoku flavor that charmed older viewers too.
