Martian Successor Nadesico: The Prince of Darkness

A theatrical sequel to the Martian Successor Nadesico TV series. Set three years after the TV finale in a world reshaped by the shifting politics of Earth and the Mars sphere, it follows Akito Tenkawa, Ruri Hoshino, and their comrades as they are pulled back onto an old battlefield. Shedding much of the TV series' romantic comedy for a weightier, serious tone, the film foregrounds the torment of the surviving crew and a more mature Ruri as its narrative centerpiece. Produced by Xebec with returning director Tatsuo Sato, it stands as the series' definitive culmination.
