A Nippon Animation television anime based on Etsushi Ogawa's cooking manga, set in late Qing-era China. It follows Mao, a young chef aspiring to become the youngest Super Chef, as he travels across the land with fellow cooks and confronts the sinister underground dark cooking society. Famed for its vivid cooking battles and hot-blooded themes of friendship and loyalty to one's master, it helped popularize culinary anime to a wide audience.
