Akazukin Chacha

A magical girl comedy produced by Studio Gallop for TV Tokyo, based on the manga by Min Ayahana serialized in Ribon magazine. The series follows Chacha, an apprentice witch, and her friends Riiya the werewolf and Shiine the young wizard, as they face the forces of the Great Demon King. At the toy sponsor's request the anime added a transforming magical heroine element, with Chacha becoming the Magical Princess. Experimental comedic direction by young staff earned strong reception and led to an extended multi-season run.
