Yamato Takeru

An original sci-fi robot anime produced by Nippon Animation and broadcast on TBS, with Hideharu Iuchi as chief director. Reimagining the legend of the Kojiki hero Yamato Takeru as a far-future space saga on the planet Izumo, it follows the young Yamato Takeru as he pilots the sealed god-machine Susanoo to defend humans and Izumians from the invading forces of the dark god Tsukuyomi. The series is also notable for its tie-in opening and ending themes performed by the then newly debuted rock band GLAY.
