An anime adaptation of Jouji Manabe's space-opera manga, produced by Easy Film and broadcast on TV Tokyo. After the fall of the Holy Galactic Empire, the galaxy descends into a Sengoku-style warring-states era. Rising from common soldier, the young warlord Ryuga Rai fights to unify the galaxy amid clashing rival lords. The series blends fleet battles between space warships with close-quarters swordsmanship, creating a distinctive Chinese-historical-drama feel set among the stars, with music by Kaoru Wada.
