The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Aired: 1994 - 1995

A 26-episode Japan-Italy co-production TV anime based on Mark Twain's classic novel, produced by Aubec and broadcast on NHK BS2's satellite anime block from August 1994 to March the following year. Set along the Mississippi River in the antebellum American South, the series follows mischievous freedom-loving Huck as he rafts down the river with the runaway slave Jim. Through encounters with con men and kind-hearted strangers, Huck learns the meaning of friendship and human dignity. The show is notable for its European-flavored color design and measured dramatic direction characteristic of international co-productions.
