Darkside Blues

A dark-fantasy action theatrical anime based on Hideyuki Kikuchi's novel and Yuho Ashibe's manga, released in October 1994 and produced by J.C.STAFF. In a near-future world where the corporation Persona Century owns 90 percent of everything, a mysterious young man called Darkside appears in Shinjuku's Kabuki-cho, one of the few remaining extraterritorial zones. After a terrorist named Tatsuya is killed while attempting to assassinate Persona's leader Kuren Nozuki, Darkside uses his peculiar power to instill the will to vengeance in two young women, guiding them toward a confrontation with Persona. Distinctive visuals and world-building have made it a late-night cult classic.
