Heritage from Father

A feature-length (roughly 70-minute) OVA released on February 25, 1993, adapted from Katsumi Michihara's science-fiction manga of the same name. In the distant future, a young protagonist follows the trail her lost father left behind to the ancient ruins known as Al Caral on a remote planet. What awaits is a puzzle of vanished civilizations, rival factions and tangled motives, unfolding into a sweeping deep-space adventure. Michihara's refined character designs and rigorous SF setting give the story a hybrid of hard science fiction and juvenile adventure aimed at adult anime fans.
