Ushio and Tora: Mad Wind

A theatrical release on June 5, 1993 drawn from the OVA adaptation of Kazuhiro Fujita's Weekly Shonen Sunday manga Ushio and Tora, re-edited from what would become the ninth and tenth OVA episodes. Middle-schooler Ushio Aotsuki unleashes the great youkai Tora from a centuries-old seal and, armed with the Beast Spear, is pulled into battles between humans and monsters. In this chapter the wind-mad youkai Kazekurui descends, forcing Ushio, Tora and heroine Mayuko Inoue into a furious midair battle. The short-form work concentrates the appeal of the franchise's hot-blooded buddy youkai action.
