Trying to impress the girl he's just fallen for, delinquent first-year Hanamichi Sakuragi joins Shohoku High's basketball club, where alongside the prodigy Rukawa, the comeback shooter Mitsui, the playmaker Miyagi and Captain Akagi he gradually grows from a wild, freelancing brawler into a genuine team player. Broadcast from October 1993 across 101 episodes, the show produced era-defining anime hits like BAAD's 'Kimi ga Suki da to Sakebitai' and Maki Ohguro's 'Anata Dake Mitsumeteru', and became a generational phenomenon.
