A Toei Animation adaptation of Tsukasa Oshima's popular soccer manga, broadcast on Fuji TV. Carrying the will of their late senior Yoshiharu Kubo, Toshihiko Tanaka, Kenji Shiraishi, Kazuhiro Hiramatsu and the rest of the Kakegawa High School soccer team battle through high-stakes matches against the country's strongest schools on their road to the national tournament. The anime adds an original framing in which Toshi, Kazuhiro, Kenji and Kazumi have been close friends since elementary school, deepening the romantic subplots. WENDY's bright opening 'Yell: Anata no Yume ga Kanau Made' lends the series its signature feel-good charge.
