Getter Robo Go
Aired: 1991
A new chapter of the Getter Robo saga based on Ken Ishikawa's manga, produced by Toei Doga and broadcast on TBS. With Dr. Saotome's legacy carried forward by the research organization NISAR, the new Getter Robo Go is launched to face the metal lifeforms known as Metal Beasts and the schemes of Professor Lando. Pilots Go Ichimonji, Sho Tachibana, and Gai Daido unite to defend the Earth in spectacular giant-robot battles. The opening theme Getter Robo Go, performed by anison legend Ichiro Mizuki, ranks as one of his trademark powerhouse anthems, while Hiroyuki Takami's 21st Century Boy adds a more modern rock edge that signaled the series' bridge between classic super robot energy and a new era.
