Urusei Yatsura: Reikon to Date

The eleventh entry in the Urusei Yatsura OVA line, drawing on Rumiko Takahashi's romantic SF comedy. Ataru is suddenly courted by the ghost of a lovely young woman whose passionate affection persists even after death, much to Lum's instant fury. While the half-hour adventure plays out as a slapstick romp through the boundary between worlds, it allows brief, melancholic glimpses of how love endures past mortality. Composer Tsunehiro Izumi's ending theme 'Good Luck: Eien Yori Ai wo Komete' deepens that bittersweet aftertaste, making this short OVA a treasured romantic side story among later instalments of the series.
