Sequel to the original mecha-fantasy TV anime, again produced by Sunrise under chief director Hideharu Iuchi and aired on Nippon TV. Following the success of 'Mashin Hero Wataru,' the young hero Wataru is summoned anew with his Ryujinmaru to face a fresh threat on Seikai-zan in this further interdimensional adventure. Series composition by Takao Koyama and Yoshimasa Takahashi and character designs by Toyoo Ashida carried over, alongside familiar faces such as Master Shibaraku, Toraoh, and Himiko. The story broadened both comedic and dramatic registers, and its themes of friendship resonated strongly. A landmark sequel that paved the way for future installments. (C)Sunrise
