Second TV anime adaptation of Fujio Akatsuka's classic gag manga 'Moretsu Ataro,' co-produced by TV Asahi and Toei Doga (now Toei Animation) under series director Junichi Sato. Centered on Ataro, a boy with old-Edo spirit, the series follows him through downtown shenanigans alongside his late father's ghost Bakogoro, his henchman Dekohachi, the cat Nyaromé, and Kokoro-no-Boss. With a fully refreshed cast including Tomoko Maruo as Ataro and Akira Kamiya as Nyaromé, the show updates the original's warm humanity and outrageous gags for a modern audience, culminating in a heartfelt finale celebrating family and friendship.
