Nao Toyama sets course for Nippon Budokan on March 11, 2027 - Live report from the 'Nao Toyama Project 2026 Kickoff Event -Ikuze Budokan!!-'

On May 3, 2026, the 'Nao Toyama Project 2026 Kickoff Event -Ikuze Budokan!!-' was held at Cultz Kawasaki. The event served as a kickoff toward 'Nao Toyama 10th Anniv. Final Live OVER THE RAINBOW at Nippon Budokan', which she will hold at Nippon Budokan on March 11, 2027 - her own birthday. All seats sold out.

Kawasaki is a place of memories for Toyama. After making her singing debut on February 1, 2017, she held her solo debut single release event at Lazona Kawasaki Plaza, and on February 3, 2018 she held her 1st LIVE 'Rainbow' at Nippon Budokan. From 'the beginning of the rainbow', step by step, came this 'kickoff'.

The main feature of the event was a talk show. On a stage conceived as Toyama's own room, complete with a sofa and low table, Toyama appeared in the event goods 'TEAM 70 uniform' and led call-and-response with the audience. She was joined by Takuro Iga, bandmaster and keyboardist of Rainbow Dogs, the band long familiar from her live shows, and together they traced the ten-year history of Toyama as a singer and her journey with successive directors.

Live producer Hosoya also joined, sharing behind-the-scenes talk from the 10th anniversary live and the Nao Toyama solo live 2026 'Matsuri'. In the variety segment 'Insiders Saw It! Toyama Case Files 2026', unique episodes were revealed one after another, including a tip-off from Kiyono Yasuno, her partner in the unit Pokapoka Ion.

Then came the long-awaited mini live. Toyama prepared seven songs she wrote and composed herself. The first was the Christmas song 'Winter Melody', followed by 'Taisetsu no Tsukurikata', 'Ashita Aetara' and 'Hajimari no Sora' - songs that seemed to symbolize her feelings toward Nippon Budokan. With Iga's aggressive keyboard, the venue raised their fists to the live staples 'Gunjo Infinity' and 'OVER!!', and on the ballad 'Rainbow', the first song she ever wrote and composed, Toyama sang while holding back tears.

'I never thought a day would come when I could sing this with these feelings', she said. As the whole venue shared in that emotion, a surprise new song 'Bokura no Kiseki', written by Toyama and composed by Iga, was unveiled - recorded with the Rainbow Dogs members just days earlier, a performance that could only be heard there.

The event also announced that her 4th full album 'OVER THE RAINBOW' will be released on October 7 (Wed), and that a release event tour across 10 locations nationwide has been decided, bringing the venue to a fever pitch.
