A TV anime produced by Nippon Sunrise. Based on Shotaro Ishinomori's manga Cyborg 009, this second TV series aired in 50 episodes on TV Asahi from March 6, 1979 to March 25, 1980. Structured in three arcs-the Norse-mythology-inspired 'World Tree,' 'Warriors' Rest,' and 'Neo Black Ghost'-it follows nine cybernetically remodeled warriors (Joe Shimamura/009, Francoise/003 and others) battling enemy organizations threatening the world.
