A TV anime produced by Office Academy, broadcast in 26 episodes by Yomiuri TV on the Nippon TV network, the sequel series to Space Battleship Yamato. On an Earth that has regained peace after the war with Gamilas, a new invading power, the White Comet Empire, draws near. Warned by Teresa of the planet Telezart, Susumu Kodai and the crew once again board the Yamato and throw themselves into all-out war against a vast empire menacing the solar system. Built on the same story as the film Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato while reconstructing its ending as a television series, it is one of the core works that drove the Yamato boom.
