Average salaryman Issaku Hanada (nicknamed "Hana no Kakaricho") navigates family life with wife and daughter, office dynamics with superiors and subordinates, and street/commuter encounters with humor and pathos. Sonoyama's sharp portrayal of high-growth-era Japanese salarymen pioneered the salaryman anime genre across 25 episodes.
