The Ono family's seven orphaned siblings—eldest brother Ichiro, eldest sister Chiyoko, Jiro, Saburo, Shiro, Momoyo, and Goro—live brightly and resiliently despite poverty. Each child's personality supports the others, smiling through hardships. Adapted from Kawasaki's long-running manga, it depicts warm family bonds in Showa-era poverty. 104 episodes.
