A TV anime produced by DAUME based on the novel by Fuyumi Ono (published by Shinchosha), with a manga adaptation by Ryu Fujisaki. Aired from July to December 2010 in Fuji TV's "noitaminA" block with 22 episodes. In the small mountain village of Sotoba with a population of 1,300, a string of mysterious deaths occurs during a sweltering summer. The village's sole doctor Toshio Ozaki and young monk Seishin Muroi begin to suspect a connection between the deaths and the Kirishiki family who recently moved to the village. A horror ensemble drama depicting the fierce struggle between humans and the "risen" corpse demons. Directed by Tetsuro Amino with series composition by Kenji Sugihara, character designs by Shinji Ochi, and music by Yasuharu Takanashi.
