A Shin-Ei Animation series based on Yoshito Usui's hugely popular manga, broadcast on TV Asahi from its debut. The show centers on Shinnosuke Nohara, a five-year-old whose precocious mischief and unfiltered humor produce constant chaos for his parents Hiroshi and Misae, his baby sister Himawari, and the wider Nohara family circle. From its earliest episodes the series struck a nerve as both a vulgar gag comedy and a warm domestic drama, capturing slice-of-life moments with sharp, irreverent wit balanced by genuine family affection. The opening theme Doubutsuen wa Taihen da is notable as the only Crayon Shin-chan OP whose lyrics were penned by the original manga author. The show grew into one of Japan's longest-running and most internationally recognized anime franchises.
