Widely known as an enka and kayokyoku singer, he is also beloved for anime theme songs. For the third series of the national yokai anime 'Gegege no Kitaro' he delivered the opening 'Gegege no Kitaro' and the ending 'Obake ga Ikuzo', enlivening the show with a flavorful, cheerful voice. 'Gegege no Kitaro' was also used in the series' theatrical film. With his distinctive presence and humorous singing, he brought lively color to the world of yokai.
