A singer who performed many approachable theme songs for anime in the 1960s and 1970s. For 'Obake no Q-taro,' based on the work of Fujiko Fujio, he sang the million-selling opening theme 'Obake no Q-taro,' and for 'Dokonjo Gaeru' he handled the opening 'Dokonjo Gaeru no Uta' as well as several endings including 'Dokonjo de Yansu' and 'Dokonjo Gaeru March.' He also sang 'Dokonjo de Yansu' for 'Shin Dokonjo Gaeru,' remembered for a humorous, cheerful voice that brightened Showa-era living rooms.
