manzo, whose real name is Masatoshi Sakashita, is a Japanese singer-songwriter, lyricist, composer, and arranger from Tokyo who also performs under the alias Manz (Mass Production Type). He first gained widespread attention as the creator of Nihon Break Kogyo Shaka, a company song that became a national talking point after being featured on the TV Asahi program Tamori Club. In the anime world he performed Maipeace Daio, the opening theme of Genshiken, along with Mizonokuchi Taiyozoku and Zoku Mizonokuchi Taiyozoku for Astro Fighter Sunred and its second season. His laid-back vocal style blends Showa-era kayokyoku humor with an unmistakable undercurrent of melancholy, earning him a devoted fanbase.
