A musician and composer. He has scored films including Belle, Moteki and Scarlet, and anime such as the Blood Blockade Battlefront series and SPRIGGAN, earning Japan Academy Film Prize music awards and a Japan Gold Disc Award for Soundtrack Album of the Year. His work also reaches beyond screen scoring, including the Tokaido Shinkansen chime Ai ni Ikou and a set piece for the NHK National School Music Competition. On the TV anime THE GHOST IN THE SHELL he serves as music director and composer, and wrote, composed and arranged the image song po-ai feat. Mirai Moriyama — a track for which he built an original language system that exists nowhere on Earth through repeated dialogue with AIs, then rebuilt every line of the lyrics into it.
