Honoka Kousaka is the leader of μ's, the in-show school idol group at Otonokizaka High School in the TV anime Love Live!, and the protagonist around whom the original Love Live! story turns. A cheerful, impulsive second-year student from a family that runs a traditional Japanese sweets shop, she launches the entire idol project on a whim after learning her beloved school is about to close due to low enrollment. Her sunny optimism, unshakable faith in her friends, and willingness to throw herself into any challenge head-first make her the driving force behind μ's' improbable rise. She is voiced by Emi Nitta, the central member of the real-world voice cast unit μ's, who brought Honoka to life in both the animated series and the group's celebrated concerts.
