Honoka Kousaka is a second-year student at Otonokizaka High School and the heart of the school idol anime Love Live!, the protagonist who launches μ's on a whim after learning her school is about to close. The daughter of a traditional Japanese sweets shop, she leads the group with unshakable cheer and unwavering faith in her friends. She is voiced and sung by Emi Nitta, a central member of the voice-actress unit μ's, whose bright, honest singing defines the character across signature tracks like the insert songs 'START:DASH!!' and 'Susume Tomorrow,' and the ending theme 'Kitto Seishun ga Kikoeru.' Nitta's vocal warmth has become inseparable from Honoka herself for longtime Love Live! fans.
