Hanayo Koizumi is a first-year student at Otonokizaka High School and a member of μ's, the school idol group in the anime Love Live!. Painfully shy but armed with an encyclopedic love of idol culture and a famously deep devotion to white rice, she is affectionately nicknamed 'Kayo-chin' by her friends, and her arc from timid fan to confident performer is among the most beloved in the franchise. She is voiced and sung by Yurika Kubo, a member of the real-world voice-cast unit μ's, whose tender, unassuming delivery graces tracks such as the ending theme 'Kitto Seishun ga Kikoeru.' Kubo's soft voice captures Hanayo's nervous sincerity with gentle precision.
