Eli Ayase is one of the nine school idols of μ's, the in-show idol group at Otonokizaka High School in the TV anime Love Live! A half-Russian third-year student and the school's student council president, she is introduced as a cool, serious girl with perfect posture and an even more perfect grade point average, though the story soon reveals the softer feelings and past ballet dreams behind her composed exterior. She is voiced by Yoshino Nanjo, a Japanese voice actress and singer whose career spans both anime roles and a long-running tenure as the vocalist of the electronic unit fripSide. Nanjo is also known to many fans as the voice behind fripSide's opening theme for A Certain Scientific Railgun. Her clear, graceful singing voice gives Eli a dignified presence in both dialogue and song, helping shape one of the most beloved members of the original μ's lineup and making her a lasting favorite among Love Live! fans.
