SawanoHiroyuki[nZk] is a vocal-track project led by Tokyo-based composer Hiroyuki Sawano. Launched from DefSTAR Records (now SACRA MUSIC), it releases work in a collaborative format with guest vocalists, and its name 'nZk' traces back to the gatherings with musicians and staff that Sawano called 'Nozawa-kai'. Sawano has scored numerous anime including Attack on Titan, Kill la Kill, Guilty Crown, Aldnoah.Zero, Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, 86 -Eighty Six-, and Solo Leveling, and the [nZk] project has paired him with a diverse roster of vocalists such as Aimer, LiSA, mizuki, Tielle, Uru, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. The ':Rei' suffix denotes a collaboration with Rei, vocalist and guitarist of the rock band Newspeak; born in Seattle and raised bilingually in Japanese and English, Rei has lived in Liverpool and is now based in Japan, with Newspeak making their major debut on Warner Music Japan in 2022. Written for SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Rei, INERTIA serves as the opening theme of the bilibili and Aniplex co-produced anime TO BE HERO X.
