Three-piece rock band formed in Kyoto, made up of Tomoko Kawase (vocals), Shunsaku Okuda (bass), and Ryo Matsui (guitar). They emerged with a cool, sophisticated band sound and English-laced songs, went on to rack up million-selling hits, and became a representative presence in the Japanese rock scene. On the anime side they performed 'Ash Like Snow,' an opening of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 — a driving, hard arrangement that shows one of the band's fiercest sides and left a strong impression on Gundam fans. Kawase also works under the character-rich solo aliases Tommy february6 and Tommy heavenly6.
