FIVE NEW OLD is a Japanese alternative and mixture rock band. Their trademark is a refined sound that dissolves diverse elements such as soul, R&B and pop into rock, and their internationally minded songwriting, led by vocalist HIROSHI, has earned them high praise. Armed with English-language lyrics and catchy melodies, they are also actively collaborating with overseas artists. For the original TV anime HIGH CARD, they handled the openings throughout the series, performing "Trickster" for the first season and "Showdown" for the second. Both songs were produced with Russell Lissack, guitarist of the English rock band Bloc Party, and express the series' playing-card-meets-superpower-battle concept through dynamic, driving sound.
