Nogizaka46 is a Japanese female idol group produced by Yasushi Akimoto. Formed as the official rival to AKB48, the group set out to differentiate itself from existing idols by embracing concepts of being like a "theatrical troupe" and being "cultural," drawing attention with a French-pop-oriented sound. Known for their elegant, refined image and translucent pop songs, they have grown into one of Japan's leading national idol groups, even achieving consecutive Grand Prix wins at the Japan Record Awards.
