She broke through in a big way as Haruhi Suzumiya in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, performing the show's OP 'Bouken Desho Desho?,' the later series OP 'Super Driver,' and the in-show song 'God knows...' Praised for her clear voice and expressive delivery, she took both Best Leading Actress and Best Singing at the Seiyu Awards in the same year. She has also sung theme songs for works in which she starred, such as the Chico ED 'Unnamed world,' the Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka EDs, and the Hyakko ED 'Namida,' standing as a leading figure among voice-acting artists.
