After winning the Toho Cinderella audition she launched her entertainment career, drawing attention with a poised, untainted screen presence. She made her singing debut on Shoujo wa Ano Sora wo Wataru, the opening theme of the TV anime Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan, framing the curtain-raising of Mari Okada's tale of dragons and Self-Defense Force pilots with a clear, direct voice. The same project marked her first voice-acting role as a sailor-uniformed character, with director Shinji Higuchi seeking a voice that was 'untinted by any color' — placing her at a crossroads of acting, singing, and voice work.
