A Japanese Gothic metal band fronted by vocalist Yui, who is venerated as the band's 'empress.' Fusing heavy guitar work with grand orchestration and techno-leaning synths, the group has carved out a heavy, decadent aesthetic. They have provided a remarkable string of anime themes spanning many genres, including 'Kuusou Mesorogyi' (OP) and 'filament' (ED) for 'Future Diary,' along with tie-ups for 'Katanagatari,' 'Tokyo ESP,' 'Big Order,' 'Venus Versus Virus,' 'Renkin 3-kyuu Magical? Pokaan,' and 'Innocent Venus.' Their dark, beautiful sound is especially well suited to suspense-tinged works.
