cossami is a female folk group originally formed as a duo by high school classmates minami and hiroco, signed to Universal Music Japan. Their unit name was coined by Gota Nishidera of Nona Reeves by blending the two members' names. They made their CD debut with the ending theme After the rain and the insert song Aoi Hoshi for the TV anime Kemono no Souja Erin, produced as a 50th anniversary NHK Educational TV work. Their gentle, acoustic-leaning sound was praised for resonating with the fantasy world of the series. The lineup later expanded with vocalist haruca and keyboardist yoshie, evolving while remaining rooted in folk.
