Azumi Inoue is a female singer from Kanazawa, Ishikawa. She rose to fame with Carrying You from Hayao Miyazaki's Castle in the Sky (1986) and went on to sing Sanpo, Tonari no Totoro, Okaasan, and Maigo for My Neighbor Totoro, becoming the voice that embodies the world of Studio Ghibli for generations of fans. For Nippon Animation's World Masterpiece Theater Konnichiwa Anne: Before Green Gables, she performed the opening theme Hikari no Tane and ending theme Yattane March, gracing this 100th anniversary commemoration of the original novel with her clear, gentle vocals. She continues active concert work centered on her Ghibli repertoire.
