Yui Asaka is a singer, actress, and TV personality from Miyazaki Prefecture. She made her singing debut in 1985 with Natsu Shoujo and broke through nationally the following year playing the third-generation Saki Asamiya in Fuji TV's Sukeban Deka III. Counted among the late-Showa idol elite alongside Miho Nakayama, Shizuka Kudo, and Yoko Minamino, she charted numerous hits including STAR, Niji no Dreamer, and C-Girl. In anime, she sang the opening theme Maji? Maji! Magical Jewel for the TV series Jewelpet based on the Sanrio character franchise, lending her bright and cute vocals to the show's playful tone.
