Watarirouka Hashiritai is a four-member AKB48 sub-unit formed in 2008, originally comprising Mayu Watanabe, Aika Tada, Haruka Nakagawa and Natsumi Hirashima. The group launched proper single releases ahead of many AKB sister units. Their double A-side debut 'Hatsukoi Dash / Aoi Mirai' served as the opening theme of 'Blue Dragon: Tenkai no Shichi Ryuu', meaning the group entered the market through an anime tie-in, and their third single 'Kanpeki Gu~no ne' became an ending theme of 'Fairy Tail'. The unit was later reorganised as the five-member 'Watarirouka Hashiritai 7'.
