Saeko Shu

Saeko Shu is a singer-songwriter from Nishinomiya, Hyogo, who studied vocal music at Tokyo University of the Arts. In 1981 she became the 14th 'Singing Sister' on NHK's long-running children's program Okaasan to Issho, serving for two years before launching a solo concert career and releasing albums on Toshiba EMI. Her Concerts for Parents and Children series earned her the Japan Doyo (Children's Song) Award, and she has continued to build a long career in children's and lullaby repertoire. In anime, she performed the ending theme Kitto Ashita wa for Ojamajo Doremi, her gentle, classically trained voice perfectly suited to send young viewers off at the close of each magical girl episode.
