Hideki Saijo is a Japanese male singer from Hiroshima Prefecture who debuted in 1972 with Koisuru Kisetsu. Together with Hiromi Go and Goro Noguchi he formed the so-called New Three Family, becoming an icon of Showa-era pop. Hits such as Jonetsu no Arashi, Chigireta Ai, YOUNG MAN (Y.M.C.A.), and Blue Sky Blue, paired with his dynamic, athletic stage presence, profoundly shaped the template for later Japanese male idols. In anime, he performed the opening theme Turn A Turn for Yoshiyuki Tomino's TV series Turn A Gundam, with lyrics by Tomino himself under the pen name Rin Iogi and music by Asei Kobayashi. His weathered, soulful vocal delivery gave the series a stately, era-defining opening.
