rumania montevideo is a male-female unit / band centered on vocalist Mami Miyoshi and composer Makoto Miyoshi, who made their major debut in 1999 under the Being group. Their style mixes city-pop with a digital sheen, and at the start of their career they were deeply involved with the TBS anime 'Monster Rancher', taking the unusual step of handling both the opening theme 'picnic' and the early ending theme 'Digital Music Power'. 'Digital Music Power' was reworked with substantially rewritten lyrics from the on-air version when released as a single, and together with 'picnic' it defined the sonic identity of the show. The unit is remembered as one that left a strong impression on anime music history over a short active period.
