Isako Saneyoshi
Artist
Isako Saneyoshi is a singer-songwriter from Tokyo, the daughter of zoologist and non-fiction writer Tatsuro Saneyoshi. She began writing words and music in high school, met composer Masaki Kurihara, formed her exclusive band 'Saneyoshi Band', and made her major debut on Four-Life Records in 1990. In 1993 her single 'Maruko Jiisan' became a Mister Donut commercial jingle, drawing attention and selling over 100,000 copies within a year. With a personal world often shaped through collaboration with the likes of the Kuricorder Quartet, she has also left a body of warm work in anime, including the ending 'Kyoro-chan Ekakiuta' for 'Kyoro-chan', the songs 'Takoyaki Mantman Shudaika' and 'Calendar ni Maru' for the children's anime 'Takoyaki Mantman', and 'Shiranainai Sora' (ED) and 'Kaerimichi' (OP) for the youkai school story 'Petopeto-san', spanning both children's anime and fantasy.
