Tomoyuki Asakawa is a Tokyo-born composer, arranger, and harpist. While working on drama and commercial scores, he has long served as harpist for Katsuhisa Hattori's Tokyo Pops Orchestra and is known for a style that moves freely between pop and classical music. In anime he has scored substantial works such as The Five Star Stories, and for the science-fiction series The Candidate for Goddess he composed and arranged the opening theme Kibou no Hoshi wo Mezase!, supporting Kohei Koizumi's vocal. He also produced the soundtrack for the same series.
