Akemi Misawa is a Japanese enka and kayokyoku singer who debuted in the early 1960s. Her signature work Shima no Blues, recorded with Hiroshi Wada and Mahina Stars, earned her the Newcomer Award at the Japan Record Awards and a spot on NHK's Kohaku Uta Gassen. For the period-comedy anime Carried by the Wind: Tsukikage Ran she performed the opening theme Kaze Makase, with lyrics by director Akitaro Daichi and music by Kenji Miyashita, coloring the show's opening with an enka-tinged voice that fit its samurai-era setting.
